Unfortunately, I also haven't played the Wii version of Sonuc Colors. But when it comes to gameplay, the game has absolutely no appeal for me. As I said, not all is bad in SatBK and especially as far as presentation is concerned, the game is impressive. But when I think of how much soul I saw in SatSR, when I look at SatBK, I feel it's comparitively void of soul. Music is for the most part good and I have also watched all cutscenes and did like Sonic's character again. All the hack&slash is just tedious and boring. Level design is totally uninspred and boring-looking and gameplay-wise, it doesn't even play like a Sonic game. I've seen a lot of videos for the game and I just can't like it. I think SatSR may be a gem that needs a lot of polishing, but it's nevertheless a gem! SatBK on the other hand, is, for me, one of the most disappointing Sonic games ever! I have to admit, I haven't played SatBK, but the fact alone that I didn't even feel the need to play it is bad enough. But most of all, the game has an interesting and very well thought-through skill system that gives you customization possibilities in meaningful ways. Challenge is superb, especially if you care about unlocking everything in the secret book.

The Secret Book, where you can track all the unlockables, is just pure awesomeness and one of the best reward systems I have ever seen in a video game! Level design, though lacking in exploration, shows an acceptable amount of creativity. Also, the ending is just plain awesome! The music is for the most part awesome! The environments are very imaginative and very fresh for a Sonic game. Not necessarily because the story was strong, but because I think that Sonic was very much in character and I just really enjoyed the character interactions. It is one of the few Sonic games where I actually kinda enjoyed the story. But even with all this, there is a lot that I like about the game. This is just another sign that the game was rushed. If only the game had been made for PC and the Wii-controls had been replaced by mouse & Keyboard! The other bad thing is that there are too few main levels and a lot of the extra missions are throw-aways. There are two things that make SatSR suffer. Also, party mode is absolutely forgettable, though I really don't care about that. Yes, it's definitely not perfect and was rushed to get released in time for the Wii launch. I like SatSR a lot and I think it's one of those Sonic games where you can truly feel how much the creative director of the game cared about his creation.

About your other comment, thank you for your compliment! But I have to say that I absolutely disagree with your view about Sonic and the Secret Rings (SatSR) and Sonic and the Black Knight (SatBK).
